Ever since I went to Hong Kong earlier this year, I have been dreaming about these gorgeous Akoya pearls! And now that I have just visited the Japanese pearl farm, I have my hands on some!!
Blueish, graying, multi-layering of all-natural color-ish. Stunning! I am so excited I now have my hands on 3 gorgeous strands!! I am calling them Sapphire Silver pearls although the coloring is more layered than just a blue/gray. They have hints of pink and green. The color is unbelievable! As usual, my photos don't do them justice!!
Each strand features 8.5-9mm pearls. They are $1000 each in a loose strand. We can add a clasp and knot them or combine two strands into one long necklace. I might do both!! A 25" strand, an 18" strand with maybe a 14K white gold clasp and maybe some single silver pearls on a chain? What do you think?
If you want one, let me know! We can knot them and add a clasp for you! I think you will be as blown away as I am by these stunning pearls!
As I am sure you know, akoya pearls are typically smaller pearls, coming from the small akoya oyster. Japan is a major producer of these cultured pearls.
And... they are traditionally white or slightly pink pearls. They have absolutely stunning luster.
But, The Pearl Girls already offer such gorgeous white cultured pearl strands! So... on this trip, I wanted to find something different!
So.. look what I scored! A gorgeous strand featuring the full range of akoya colors!
This gorgeous strand has white, whitish yellow, pinkish and bluish pearls. All natural colors! The pearls are 7-7.5 mm in this strand! I also got one more strand like this but with slightly smaller 6-6.5mm pearls.
See how subtle and beautiful and SHINY they are?? And this is India's not so good photography at 4AM with jet lag! Still in Japan! Ah! They are stunning!! Ethereal! Something worth waking up to!
I adore this twist on a traditional pearl strand! They are $1500 a strand. And the ladies at the Pearl Girls shop can knot them into any length and any clasp you want!
Here is the President of the pearl farm, hard at work!
Now, I am loving the gorgeous range of colors! But, if a strand is too much, I also have them on an 18K gold chain!
These six gorgeous pearls on a chain are $999.
Now... drumroll! I went to bed (took a nap... whatever you want to call jet lag sleep!) with these on!
They are earring backs... akoya silver pearl earring backs. What? I know! These gorgeous pearls slide onto the back of your traditional pearl studs. So, you have a pearl in the front and a pearl in the back.
I slept in them to test their security and they stayed right in place! Plus, they were so much more comfortable than falling asleep in traditional studs with the pokey earring post.
These are a gorgeous alternative to the traditional earring back and only $100 a pair! Amazing!!
8mm silver akoya pearls that can be attached to the posts of your stud earrings.
Here is my bedhead!!
It is not all about sleeping! I wanted to get a little fancy, too!
I picked up this ldiamond and akoya pearl set. These feature 4mm akoya pearls and small diamonds totaling .05 carats set in 18k gold.
Talk about a stunning set!
Again, the pictures do not even capture part of the beauty of these pieces! But, I am trying!
The pendant is $1500 and the earrings are $1750 but I can give y'all a deal on the set for $3000.
I couldn't leave the akoya pearl farm without akoya studs.. just a gorgeous go-to for myself and all of you amazing pearl girls! And, of course some akoya studs! These are 8.5mm. Stunning, gorgeous round akoya studs set in gold!
I already offer such gorgeous studs through The Pearl Girls but I bought a few pairs of these for those of you specifically wanting akoya studs. I was thinking of taking a few akoya pearls to make into pendants, too. What do you think? These are $650 a pair which is pricey! I want to offer you a deal at $499.
We are wrapping up an amazing trip! We had two companions back out at last minute but we had an amazing trip with 6 travelers! Along with gorgeous pearls... we had tons of adventures which I am excited to share with you in the coming weeks!
Along with these gorgeous pieces, I would love to encourage you to join me on my next adventure... to a New Zealand pearl farm! We set off April of 2025! https://thepearlgirls.com/products/new-zealand-2025
