A Lost Art
Thank you. And for the many of you who send us your pearls immediately after they have been restrung at your local jewelry store, we are so sorry that you have had a bad experience with other jewelers. We have come to believe that knotting pearls is another lost art. Many jewelers do not know how to create a well-crafted knotted pearl necklace or bracelet.
So, many of you wonder, how much does it cost to restring pearls?
Restringing pearls varies across companies. Some people charge between $5 and $10 an inch. Smaller operations charge less. We feel very confident in the service we provide. We have worked with pearls since 2006 and our primary business in restringing pearls and beads. Our prices are as follows:
Restring/Reknot a single strand bracelet up to 9” $50
Restring/Reknot a single strand necklace up to 18” $100
Restring/Reknot a single strand necklace up to 22” $125
Restring/Reknot a single strand necklace up to 25” $150
Restring/Reknot a single strand necklace up to 35" $175
For all other pieces, we will provide an estimate after viewing the repair.
Extra heavy or very small pearls/beads will be charged an extra $30-$50 dollars
Clean My Jewelry $20 (per piece)
Replace a Pearl in my Ring $50 + (price can increase based on the pearl)
When we add pearls or beads to a existing piece, we prefer to quote this in house. Pearls vary greatly in quality and price, so we will want to see your piece to assess the exact pearls or beads that you need. Thanks!
Re-attach pearls to stud earrings $20 per pair (FREE if they are from The Pearl Girls!)
New Clasp Start at $25 for Sterling Silver and $100 for 14K gold
Rush Fee $25
Not sure what you need? $30/hour for Consultation (billed in ½ hour increments)
$50/hour for Design (billed in ½ hour increments)
To Knot or Not to Knot?
Now, not all jewelry is knotted, right? If you have pearls or beads that are simply strung, we can restring your piece. If you want to add knots, that is possible, too!
You would be amazed at the work we have done, from simple restringing to larger repair jobs! Removing pearls, adding pearls, cleaning beads after a fire, breaking necklaces apart and remaking something for multiple granddaughters... we are so proud of all of our repair work.
And we do not just string and knot pearls! We can restring any of your beaded jewelry including jet, coral, jade and more.
Size does matter. If you have a necklace with small pearls or beads, it takes us longer to knot it for you. Larger pearls are heavy and may require an additional reinforcement. Please me advised, we might add a surcharge to the very big and very small!
Need a new clasp? No problem! Buy a clasp and send it to us or see what clasps we offer HERE!
